Hi. I’m Carol Oldfield and I live in the Fens of rural Cambridgeshire.
I have always loved sketching and painting, and my passion is animals. I have found pastel to be the ideal medium for drawing animals as it portrays so well the texture and softness of animal fur.
Since losing my pet Judy (a yellow Labrador cross) a number of years ago and not wishing to fill her place in my heart, I have taken great pleasure in painting other people’s pets.
I love to see people’s reaction when I give them a pastel painting of their pet, and even better, to hear the story of their friend/partner’s reaction to a gift of one of my portraits.
